We replaced our existing clapboard siding with Alside Harbour Blue siding with vinyl trim corners and kept our existing deck and porch frame but replaced the boards and railings with trek and composite railings. The work was done in a timely manner. Everyone was very pleasant and professional. We weren't
sure how they would reach the two skylights in our kitchen, because they are positioned over a large
center island. However, they took great care to figure out a scaffolding system that wouldn't damage anything. They seemed very knowledgeable about their work. They would always tell us when they would be coming and leaving. If they had to move anything, they would put everything back in its place. And they cleaned up after they were finished. We were very satisfied.

We chose A.J. Wood Construction to do our two additions, which began in September of 2014. We chose them because they listened to my ideas and also suggested their own ideas that we liked. We found their work crews to be both professional and personal. They were respectful of our home and were prompt at cleaning up every day when they were done working. They explained each phase of the projects before they began, so if there were to be changes you could make them before they started, which saved much wasted time and materials. We decided to go with a Harvey three - seasons room upon A.J. Woods suggestion because we loved the idea of being able to remove the glass panels in the warm months and replace them with screens. This gave us the full benefit of having a screened in porch for the summer months and a glassed-in room for the cooler months, The Home Theater room is perfect - the electrician worked closely with me in understanding the installation of the 7.1 audio system and was able to set up the system so that all of the electronics are in a seperate room. I was most impressed by A.J. Wood himself when we were outside discussing the three-seasons porch and he noticed that some of my roof tiles weren't sitting correctly. He later came back personally and re-sealed the tiles. This action on his part confirmed that I had chosen the right contractor and I would certainly use A.J. Wood Construction again.

The project was a great success. From first contact with AJ and Jeff the project was a great success. The team was very responsive and provided great ideas and suggestions. They really went above and beyond and found creative solutions to problems. There really weren't any problems, as they were all about solutions. They were flexible enough to work around typical construction delays beyond their control so that the impact was minimal to the project. We really wanted the new addition to tie into the existing home and they did an amazing job. It's virtually impossible to tell which is the addition. The finish work and attention to detail was excellent. Most important to me in projects like this is communication. I gave them an "A" because it was always really easy to get a hold of someone and calls were followed up. Overall a great experience and I have recommended AJ Wood to friends already.

"Perfect" might be an understatement. After requesting a quote, AJ personally traveled to our home the next day to provide us with some detailed professional suggestions based on his experience with different materials, and a rough time/cost estimate for the services we needed. Within 24 hours, we had an official quote/SOW from Julie. From start to finish, Julie was exceptional at coordinating with the crew, and answering any questions we had along the way. AJ himself would regularly stop by our house to check progress, and to update us as to what was going on at any particular time. Once the crew was on site, they were always friendly, polite, professional, and prompt. The crew cleaned up every day, and took great care in making sure that our neighbors weren't affected by the work going on at our house. As the project progressed, there were numerous unexpected things that popped up along the way, such as the fact that our princess deck wasn't properly reinforced. The guys took it upon themselves to secure the deck properly, and seamlessly integrate it into the look of the house, it came out beautifully. Since the project has been completed, not a day has gone by where a neighbor hasn't walked past our house and commented on how great it looks, the level of detail, the quality of the finish work, and how fast it came together. We're looking to upgrade our kitchen soon, and based on our experience with AJ Wood, our search for a qualified contractor is expected to be a quick one. We will definitely use AJ Wood again, and are delighted to recommend them not only to our neighbors, but to anyone who might be in the market. A+++++

We purchased a bank owned property in 2010. It had good guts but needed a face lift. AJ came out and gave us an estimate. His pricing was very competitive and he offered a one stop shop. He was very informative when he came out and gave us some ideas we hadn't even thought of. The best part was all we had to do was hire him, and he did the rest of the work. It was painless. The work was completed in a time manor. The crew was respectful, knowledgeable, and picked up at the end of each day. Where we had such a large project we didn't think it would ever be completed, but AJ and his crew were in and out in just a
matter of weeks and the work they completed was high quality.

Our house has held up very well, but after 60 years it needed a "face lift". We were overdue for an exterior painting, the roof was worn and my wife hated cleaning the old windows. We decided to address the entire exterior all at once. We were pleasantly surprised when we looked at the new vinyl sidings offered. They are dramatically more attractive than they were years ago and we decided to replace the wooden shingles and trim work instead of painting. We had several contractors give us estimates and went with AJ Wood for several reasons. His price was competitive, he made numerous good suggestions we hadn't considered, we were pleased with the roofing, siding, and window products he recommended, and he was capable of handling the entire job. The work had to be done in a certain order and we didn't want to have to coordinate the schedules of separate roofing, siding, window, electrical, carpentry and masonry contractors. AJ Wood coordinated all the work themselves. They did the work in a timely fashion, all the old construction material was hauled away and the property was spotless upon completion. They even had one of their people thoroughly clean the exterior of the gutter troughs so they would match the new look of the rest of the exterior. We were very pleased with the results and our new exterior is virtually maintenance-free. We have received numerous compliments from folks in the neighborhood on our "new" house.

Once the work finally started the two-man crew that showed up was very friendly and courteous, they got there on-time and worked hard all day despite hot, muggy weather. As the deck came together the workmanship became obvious. Every aspect of the deck was over-engineered - any hesitation about the higher quote quickly faded. While we sometimes had to call AJ for updates he's friendly, patient and very easy to work with. (His experience also allows him to offer up great suggestions along the way.) The quality and workmanship of the deck is just outstanding, it's very solid and well built. It doesn't bounce or shake at all as you walk on it. The door is installed perfectly and you can't even tell there was an A/C unit in the wall. The crew did a great job cleaning up every day and after they were done. The painter showed up the day after they finished the deck and he was very friendly, hard working and professional as well. As with the deck crew, his work is exemplary, the stain looks great and he was a pleasure to deal with. Our dealings with everyone at AJ Wood were outstanding. We're thrilled with the quality of their work, none of it is just "good enough", it's all above and beyond. We couldn't be happier with the crews - they were all professional and friendly, they worked hard and reliably showed up every day until the job was done. This is a company that constructs multi-million dollar buildings for the federal government but made us feel like our deck was just as important as those government jobs. We'd happily recommend them to anyone and will certainly have them back when we're ready to do more work on our home.

I left a message looking for an estimate and got a call back from A.J. the same day. He came over
the next morning to do an estimate. His estimate was reasonable and comparable to others I'd gotten.
He estimated it would take one day for the repairs and it did. The workman showed up right on time, they were professional and polite. They answered questions and were easy to deal with. I'm very happy with the quality of the work. The actual price was a bit higher than the original estimate but it was not unreasonably more.
